Assistive Technology Playground with the ATP Education Team Step right up to the Supportive and Assistive Technology Playground! We have created a hands-on space where you can explore and play with tools that helps students access learning, communicate, and participate more fully in the classroom.
This isn’t a sit-and-listen session. It’s your chance to touch it, try it, and see it in action. Test out tools that support reading, writing, communication, access, and independence, and discover ideas you can take straight back to your classroom or IEP team.
At the playground you can: · Try tools that support reading and writing · Explore communication and AAC supports · Test switches, access tools, and alternative input · Get quick ideas for matching tools to student needs · Chat with AT specialists and ask all your “How would this work for my student?” questions
Whether you're AT-curious or AT-savvy, come wander through, try something new, and leave with ideas that can help students access, participate, and succeed.
Trade in desks for lab coats! This immersive session transforms elementary students into bioengineers through a project-based medical simulation. Discover a workflow that navigates the "Engineering Design Process," challenging young learners to solve complex anatomical problems for their stuffed animal patients using 3D printing. This approach ensures students engage in multiple areas of research and design.
This demonstration shows how to seamlessly integrate multimodal technology—including Apple Pages, Merge EDU, and Tinkercad—leading up to the final 3D fabrication of functional prosthetics, offering a true Universal Design for Learning (UDL) experience.
Participants will explore the technical scaffolding needed to move students from initial patient assessment annotations to the slicing and printing of custom-fit, bio-mechanical prototypes. Join us to receive digital "medical files" that bridge the gap between empathetic storytelling and cutting-edge classroom innovation.

Today’s school risks rarely live in one place. Online behavior, access logs, email activity, and campus security systems often tell parts of the same story — but districts rarely see the full picture. This session explores how schools can unify digital and physical safety signals to identify risk earlier, respond faster, and protect students and staff without compromising privacy.
